Khaki and combat gear haven’t really been in the spotlight much since that stage in the 90s where it was cool to rock a pair of baggy camouflage pants with stone-hard abs and a sports bra. Thankfully there’s a much more elegant way to work army garb into your wardrobe in 2010. It’s an evolution of military and tied in part to the tomboyish utility looks of the sportswear trend.

This shoot in Elle Canada has some prime examples of how to put it all together: khaki shorts with a crisp white shirt; neutral colours and raw fabrics; man style army green ankle socks under heels. Of course the glammed-up peroxide blonde hair helps too.

The reason for change according to St.John is that Angelina’s fame was overshadowing the brand. We have a feeling British bombshell Elson will have no trouble living up to her predecessor’s raw appeal.
